.. _dc-create-floor-plan: Create Floor Plan ====================== This guide explains how to create a custom floor plan and position your devices on it for a visual representation of your sensor network. This feature provides flexibility and allows you to tailor the visualization to your specific environment. Steps to Create a Floor Plan ----------------------------- **Navigate to Floor Plans:** Go to the Floor Plans page. **Add a New Floor Plan:** Click the "Add" button in the top-right corner. Step 1 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Name Your Floor Plan:** Provide a descriptive name for your floor plan. .. image:: images/dc-name-floor-plan.png :alt: Naming the floor plan :width: 70% :align: center Step 2 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Choose a Location:** Select the relevant location for this floor plan by providing address or using interactive map. .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-choose-location.png :alt: Choose the floor plan location :width: 100% :align: center Step 3 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Upload the Floor Plan Image:** Upload the image file of your floor plan (.bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png). .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-upload-plan-file.png :alt: Upload the floor plan file :width: 100% :align: center Step 4 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Set the Scale:** To accurately represent the dimensions of your floor plan, you need to set the scale. Do this by measuring the distance between two points on your image that you know the real-world distance of (e.g., the length of a wall). * **Position the Markers:** Drag the two markers (labeled "1" and "2") on the image to correspond with the two points you've chosen. * **Enter the Real-World Distance:** In the input box at the top of the screen, enter the real-world distance between these two points (e.g., "10") in meters and centimeters. .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-scale.png :alt: Determine the scale :width: 100% :align: center Step 5 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Provide Geolocation:** Provide GPS coordinates for four points on the floor plan. This helps align the floor plan with real-world maps. * **Position the Markers:** Drag the four markers (labeled "A", "B", "C" and "D") on the image to correspond with the four points you've chosen for example corners of the building. * **Enter the GPD Coordinates:** In the input box at the top left of the screen provide Latitude, Longitude and Altitude of each point. .. image:: images/dc-provide-4-geo-points.png :alt: Providing 4 geolocation points :width: 100% :align: center Step 6 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ **Add Sensors:** Drag and drop sensors from the "Available" list on the left-hand side onto their corresponding locations on the floor plan. .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-add-sensors.png :alt: Adding sensors to the floor plan :width: 100% :align: center **Review and Save:** Once all sensors are positioned, review the floor plan and save your changes by pressing "Finalize" button on the top right. .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-created.png :alt: Completed floor plan :width: 100% :align: center Viewing Sensor Details ---------------------- After creating the floor plan, you can view details for each sensor by: * **Clicking on the sensor directly on the floor plan.** * **Selecting the sensor from the list on the left-hand panel.** .. image:: images/dc-floor-plan-sensor-details.png :alt: Viewing sensor details :width: 100% :align: center
